Parenthood Records Recognises Titus Ren Khoo-Selbaraju As The Youngest Artist In Malaysia To Hold A Solo Art Exhibition

Two-year-old Titus Ren makes history with debut solo exhibition “A New Dawn,” on display at Sunway Square Mall throughout April 2026

KUALA LUMPUR, APRIL 21, 2026 – Parenthood Records is proud to announce a historic milestone in the Malaysian arts scene. Two-year-old Titus Ren Khoo-Selbaraju has been officially recognised and inducted into the records as the “Youngest Artist in Malaysia to Hold a Solo Art Exhibition.”

The exhibition, titled “A New Dawn,” is currently showcasing at Sunway Square Mall through the end of April. This achievement was made possible through the support of Titus’ parents, Seth Wai Kit Selbaraju and Tiffany Khoo Mei Ling, who noticed his unique gift early on. The collection features a series of vibrant, intuitive works that challenge the traditional boundaries of early childhood expression.

From “Paint by Numbers” to National Record

Titus’s journey into the art world began at the age of one after showing interest in his mother’s paint-by-numbers activity at home. Since then, he has completed over 16 original works in acrylic on canvas. His art sessions, usually initiated by Titus himself, regularly last anywhere from 2 minutes to 45 minutes, with Tiffany present to facilitate materials while Titus paints independently.

Beyond the record-breaking nature of the achievement, it is the remarkable quality and depth of the work that have truly captivated the local art industry. The realisation of Titus’s potential began when his parents shared his pieces with friends connected to the professional art world for quality control and validation. Stunned by his talent, these experts noted that Titus has a natural, almost instinctive ability to arrange colours and build complex layers far beyond his years.

Initially, these artist friends were moved by his intuitive sense of aesthetic balance, and since the exhibition’s official launch at Sunway Square Mall, that professional acclaim has grown into a widespread public phenomenon. Art collectors and curious observers alike have flocked to the gallery to witness his talent firsthand, highlighting a burgeoning appreciation among Malaysians for art in its purest, most instinctive, and unfiltered form.

A Philosophy of Creative Liberty

This record-breaking achievement is rooted in a parenting philosophy of freedom and trust. “Every child has innate creativity,” says Tiffany. “Typically, parents want to control and restrict them from using certain colour combinations to limiting where they can paint. I realised that it actually curtails their natural talent. We give Titus the liberty to choose and make decisions when it comes to expressing his creativity.”

Despite not coming from an artistic background themselves, parents Seth Wai Kit Selbaraju and Tiffany described themselves as “very proud Asian parents.” They noted that receiving official recognition from Parenthood Records has been an incredibly encouraging and wonderful experience for their family. As Titus’s very first formal recognition, they view this milestone not as a final goal, but as the inspiring beginning of a long and colourful journey ahead.

Community Impact at Sunway Square Mall

The exhibition has seen a warm reception from the public. Albert Cheok, Senior Director – Sunway Square, Sunway Giza, Sunway Pyramid Ice, noted that the mall’s demographic of families and students has responded enthusiastically to the display.

“The public has responded so well to ‘A New Dawn.’ Many families and students visit Sunway Square, and they truly love the exhibition,” Cheok stated. “For families, seeing Titus’s work encourages parents to nurture art in their own children. As a family and student-oriented mall, we see Sunway Square Mall as a platform to showcase and support more local talent like this in the future.”

A Call to Parents

As Titus continues to inspire visitors, his parents hope his story catalyses others. Tiffany’s message to fellow parents is simple: “As parents, we sometimes fall into the trap of projecting our own interests onto our kids. I’ve realised how important it is to just step back and give them the tools and the space to explore, even if what they love is totally different from our own hobbies. Kids really do have an inner compass for what they’re passionate about; our job is to support that natural spark and create opportunities that fit their unique talents, rather than forcing them down a traditional path.”
